The Standing Stones - Five Handmade Stitch Markers - 9.0 mm (13 US) - Limited Edition
“The Standing Stones pointed long shadow-shapes into the east, maybe just as they’d done of an evening two thousand years before when the wild men climbed the brae and sang their songs in the lithe of those shadows while the gloaming waited there above the same quiet hills.” - Lewis Grassic Gibbon, Sunset Song, 1932

This set of five handmade stitch markers have a majesty that reminds me of ancient standing stones. Designed out of polished chunks of dyed Chinese turquoise, these rich, deeply veined blue-green stones are topped with soft, creamy vintage glass beads in a gradient of jade to teal colors. Each stitch markers features a different color, making it easy to keep track of a variety of different stitches as you knit

Each marker hangs from a braided silver ring that is soldered to prevent it from catching on your yarn. The markers will fit comfortably onto knitting needles up to 9.0 mm (13 US), and are featured in the photos on 8.0 mm (11 US) needles.

Need crochet markers? These stitch markers can be turned into closed or open hook marker for crochet enthusiasts - just tell me in the Notes to Seller area when you check out which crochet style you would prefer.

Designed from deconstructed jewelry, vintage beads and reclaimed findings, these are one-of-a-kind pieces that make great gifts and keepsakes for knitters.
